2. Overview

Callvent is an iOS app that detects phone calls and helps you create calendar entries. All data is stored exclusively on your device. No data is transmitted to servers, cloud services, or third parties.

3. What Data Does the App Process?

The app processes the following data locally on your device:

• Call information: Time, duration, and direction (incoming/outgoing/missed) of phone calls. The app technically cannot read phone numbers from calls – this is prevented by Apple.
• Contact data: Name and phone number of the contact you manually assign. The contact picker runs in a protected sandbox process – the app only sees the contact you select.
• Calendar entries: The app creates entries in the calendar you choose (iCloud, Google, Outlook, etc.). These entries sync through your calendar service – not through Callvent.
• Reminders: Optionally created callback reminders are stored in the iOS Reminders app.
• Caller ID data: Phone numbers and names you import for call identification are stored locally in the Call Directory extension.
• Notes and tags: Notes you enter and tags you assign are stored locally.

4. Permissions

The app requires the following permissions, which you can grant or deny individually:

• Phone (CallKit): To detect when a call starts and ends. No phone numbers are read.
• Contacts: For the contact picker and importing contacts into call identification.
• Calendar: To create calendar entries.
• Reminders: To create callback reminders.
• Notifications: To show a notification with a Quick Save action after calls.

5. Data Storage

All app data (call list, Caller ID numbers) is stored as JSON files in the app container on your device. There is no server, no database, no backend. The app does not communicate with any external service.

6. Tracking and Analytics

The app contains no tracking, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. No usage data is collected or transmitted.

7. Hosting

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub Inc., a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation, USA). When you visit the website, technical data (including your IP address, browser type, and time of access) is automatically recorded in server log files. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the website).

GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, ensuring an adequate level of data protection for transfers to the USA. More information: GitHub Privacy Statement.

This website does not use cookies, tracking, or analytics.

8. App Store

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's Privacy Policy applies to purchases and downloads. No other third-party services are used.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control at all times:

• Access: All data is viewable directly in the app.
• Deletion: You can delete individual calls or all data in the app. Uninstalling the app removes all data completely.
• Data portability: Calendar entries are available in your calendar service. The call list stays local.
• Withdrawal: You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings.

10. No Account Required

The app requires no registration, no account, and no sign-in. No personal data is collected to use the app.

11. Children

The app is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

12. Changes

This privacy policy may be updated with app updates. The current version is always available on this page.
